Arizona to Host 2011 All-Star Game!

Written by PHXMLB, on April 10th, 2009 at 5:37pm

We've got a game to catch, but Diamondbacks Nation would be remiss if we did not take note of the huge news that broke this afternoon: Arizona has been selected to host the 2011 All-Star Game.

Bud Selig is reportedly in town and will hold a press conference tomorrow afternoon with further details.  Diamondbacks Nation will dutifully provide them to you.

For now, let's enjoy the buzz and cheer the Diamondbacks to victory!

Better Late Than Never

A few years overdue, but good thing we got it now. With all the new parks opening up, we would have been waiting until our stadium was a relic before we hosted it!

Finally

I was thinking 2018 before we got ours, but 2011 is good, finally the respect we earned

Shady Proposition

I'm psyched, but I'll be listening tomorrow to hear if there are any special plans to prepare for all the visitors who are likely to be unaccustomed to mid-July temperatures of 110 degrees and higher. At the least, I hope some kind of shade structure to cover the plaza area northwest of the stadium is in the works. Either way, I'm investing heavily in Coppertone and Hawaiian Tropic.

HOFers

Good point! What are all the Hall of Famers they bring out for the game going to do? Pater Gammons is going to have have an entourage of misters to make it though that week.
